Creamer’s Field Migration Station Open House

The Alaska Songbird Institute and REI-Coop are hosting an open house at the Creamer’s Field Migration Station on Creamer’s Refuge on Thursday, May 31 from 4:00-7:00pm. Follow the signs that will guide you on a leisurely walk out to the Creamer’s Field Migration Station, while enjoying the spring weather and migratory birds on the refuge. Once you’ve arrived at the banding station, accompany biologists as they check the nets for songbirds. There will be opportunities to see a bird up close in the hand, and perhaps have the chance to release one. There will also be a map and compass class, and a scavenger hunt for all ages around the Creamer’s Field Migration Station, with prizes for the winners!  Information will be available about the Alaska Songbird Institute’s other research and education programs and how you can get involved in conservation science.
