Make a Donation, Become a Member
Thank you for donating to ASI! A contribution of any amount automatically makes you an ASI member for one year. Members receive invitations to special events, discounts on our programs, and our annual printed newsletter. There are several ways to make a donation:
- Give online by filling out this secure online donation form.
- Download a print donation form and mail it to us at the address listed on the form. Please make checks payable to: Alaska Songbird Institute.
- If you’re 70 ½ or older, you can make a tax-free contribution to ASI from your IRA, even if you don’t itemize on your federal tax return. You can arrange a “Qualified Charitable Distribution” to have your financial institute issue and mail a check directly to ASI. This withdrawal counts toward satisfying any “Required Minimum Distributions” you must withdraw from your IRA that calendar year.
Making Specific Donations
Contribute to the Future Scientist Fund
ASI’s Future Scientist Fund supports Alaska’s next generation of science and conservation leaders through direct financial support for our K-12 field trips at Creamer’s Field, our youth mentoring program, and our high school and college internships. These programs provide students with unique, authentic research experiences, developing skills in observation, problem solving, and critical thinking, and building their confidence as they make real world contributions to science and conservation. Students also have the opportunity to connect with Alaska’s wildlife and their habitats through hands-on field experiences with wild birds. Alumni of our programs have used their experiences as a foundation for careers in science, education, and the arts.
- A donation of $65 will provide a scholarship for a local classroom to attend a field trip.
- A donation of $275 will provide a scholarship for a student to participate in ASI’s youth mentoring program.
- A donation of $500 will provide a stipend to a high school intern.
- A donation of $2,500 will support an internship at the Creamer’s Field Migration Station.
You can make a donation directly to ASI’s Future Scientist Fund by completing this secure online donation form. All donations to ASI’s Future Scientist Fund are greatly appreciated!
Sponsor a North for Science! Student
North for Science! is one of ASI’s most important educational programs. It provides middle school students with the unique opportunity to travel to remote parts of Alaska, contribute to ongoing research, and explore STEM career opportunities. We are looking for individuals and companies who are interested in sponsoring students. A donation of as little as $30 will help make this program available to our students. Sponsor a North for Science! student using this N4S student support form.
