New Birders
For new birders in interior Alaska, we have an online bird guide to help you get started. The bird guide can help you identify and learn about 29 common species in interior Alaska. It’s organized by habitat and includes pictures, range maps, and information about our encounters with these different species at Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge.
We also have videos on our YouTube channel for anyone who would like to learn more about birding in Alaska. Our videos cover some bird watching basics as well as bird identification by shape, color, habitat, and song. Our videos also demonstrate some of the ways you can protect your backyard birds at home. They are a great, easy-to-use resource that we recommend to everyone!
